WHO WE ARE

AMANDA STEVENS

A native of Storm Lake, Iowa, a small farm community, Amanda Stevens’ love of traveling started in high school when she studied abroad in South Africa through Rotary. Amanda graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) with bachelor’s degrees in International Business and Finance. During her undergraduate years, Amanda studied abroad in Torino, Italy, and Chengdu, China. After graduating, Amanda worked in a private money real estate investment company, which ended up filing for bankruptcy. This gave Amanda the opportunity to work with the restructuring team which included many attorneys. This experience renewed her quest for knowledge and education. Accordingly, Amanda went back to UNLV to get her Master of Business Administration (MBA). Amanda graduated with her MBA just as the real estate crash of 2008 started and the entire private money real estate investment industry was decimated.

Amanda has always valued the enterprising spirit and enjoyed helping people who had an idea or were passionate about something see it come to fruition. Thus, Amanda used her experience and education to help entrepreneurs create business plans, proformas, and supported them as they turned their dreams into a reality. However, Amanda felt she could further help her entrepreneurial clients by obtaining a law degree.

That prompted Amanda to go back to law school at UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law as a part-time evening student. Amidst studying law at night, Amanda worked with different start-ups companies to get them off the ground. Amanda was very active during law school as she was an Articles Editor for the UNLV Gaming Law Journal, student attorney in the Small Business Law Clinic, an executive board member in over 6 different student organizations. She received a Pro Bono Honors Award as well as graduated Cum Laude. Also, during law school, Amanda externed for the honorable James Mahan in The United States District Court for the District of Nevada, as well as studied international business law in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

After law school, Amanda practiced complex commercial litigation at the law firm of Bailey Kennedy. However, as she started her family, she realized she would rather work on solving and preventing problems, rather than litigation. It was then that she became a founder of Battle Born Capital, LLC Nevada’s premier private money lender.

Amanda enjoyed setting up and seeing Battle Born thrive during the past five years. Now, Amanda wants to use her experience to help other entrepreneurs, businesspeople, and real estate investors make their dreams come true. Further, Amanda understands the importance of proper planning as a way to avoid the court system and desires to help people plan for whatever life has in store and protect themselves as they start new ventures.

In her free time, Amanda loves spending time with her family, traveling, and both watching and playing sports.
